MEET THE AUTHOR

A girl, a notebook,
and a little wonder.

Hi! I’m Abigail. So glad you’re here.

Hi! I'm Abigail Wilkes, a teenage Christian author, poet, and self-proclaimed otter enthusiast from Alabama!

I've always loved expressing myself through words, whether that's writing poetry, creating stories, or simply putting feelings onto paper that I can't quite explain out loud. What began as a love for writing eventually turned into something I never imagined: publishing my very own poetry book!

My debut collection, Consider the Lilies, was inspired by Matthew 6:28–29 and written for anyone navigating life's overwhelming emotions. Through poems about anxiety, friendship, loneliness, faith, and everything in between, I hope to remind readers that even when life feels uncertain, God's love never changes.

When I'm not writing, you'll probably find me on a tennis court, singing my heart out, getting lost in a good book, listening to K-pop, or talking about otters to anyone willing to listen. (Seriously, I could talk about otters all day.)

I'm a firm believer that God can use ordinary people, even teenagers with notebooks full of poetry and a questionable number of otter plushies, to do extraordinary things.

My hope is that my writing will encourage others, point them toward Christ, and remind them of a simple but beautiful truth: If God cares for the lilies of the field, He certainly cares for you.

“If God cares for the lilies of the field, He certainly cares for you.”
